Who We Are
Lakeland College is a place of opportunity that continually strives to provide high quality, affordable and accessible post-secondary education for students. What began in 1913 as the Vermillion School of Agriculture has evolved over the last century into Canada’s only inter-provincial college, with campuses in Vermillion and Lloydminister.
Each year Lakeland College serves more than 7,500 students and offers more than 50 certificate, diploma, and post-diploma applied degree, apprenticeship and transfer programs. This includes areas in agriculture, fire and emergency services, business, environmental sciences, health and wellness, human services, trades and technology, interior design technology and university transfer.

Alberta will need to replace as many as 45,000 workers over the next decade, according to the 2014-2023 Construction and Maintenance Looking Forward Forecast released by BuildForce Canada. To keep up with industry demand. Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry and Training allocated more than 200 new seats to Lakeland for the 2014-2015 academic year. The increase bumps Lakeland’s total apprenticeship numbers to 1,548.
